Our History
The College View church of Christ was established in Elizabethtown, Kentucky in 1980. Approximately 14 families living in Hardin County and worshipping with the Hodgenville church of Christ in Hodgenville, Kentucky, decided to band together and establish a congregation in Elizabethtown. For several months we met in a workshop of 225 College Street now occupied by the Project L.E.A.R.N., Inc. As individuals, we identify ourselves as Christians without denominational affiliation. As an independent congregation, we originally chose to identify ourselves as the The Hardin County church of Christ. We were soon blessed to be able to purchase property across from The Elizabethtown Community College campus. By the fall of 1981, we were able to complete the first section of our building. Since we were now located near the community college, it was decided to identify ourselves as The College View church of Christ. Our building was completed in 1985.
As a congregation, we have joined hearts and hands in a mutual work of service. The purpose of our existence is to share the good news of Christ and build one another up in the most holy faith (Jude 20). For this reason, we make provisions to preach the gospel as it was presented in the beginning.
